A facility for high yield (mg/h) production of size-selected, high purity metal nanoparticles Assessment
The MegaDMA of RAMEM is being tested at the BigMAG facility of the Institute for Nanostructures and Technology (NST) of the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany)
| Metallic titanium aerosols are generated by electrical discharge (spark, mini-arc,…) in an inert gas stream at flow rates of 100 to 300 slpm. |
| Aerosols with mean size 40-50 nm have been obtained so far. Particles are bipolarly charged and show multiple charge states. |
| Feasibility of the High Flow DMA has been demonstrated through mobility classification of these particles. |
| Next steps will decrease particle size and charge state in order to get monodisperse size distributions. |
 |
Size distribution of particles of mobility Z=6,66·10-3 cm2/(V·s) classified by the MegaDMA (V=-7,5 kV). Peaks correspond to NPs of different sizes & charge states. |
